Useful Websites
The Useful Websites page is a growing list of websites and online tools that we explore for their potential usefulness in the work of The Sunil Abraham Project (TSAP). These resources may support research, website development, coding, digital preservation, cybersecurity, automation, data analysis, and other project activities.
The list focuses primarily on specialised tools and lesser-known websites that offer practical benefits for TSAP. We have deliberately excluded many popular and commonly known websites, as the aim is to discover and document resources that may otherwise go unnoticed.
Sections and entries within each section are arranged alphabetically.
Inclusion in this list does not imply endorsement or regular use. Websites may be added as we discover, explore, and evaluate them. The list will evolve over time, and resources may be removed if they are no longer useful or relevant.

Data Repositories and Dataset Discovery
- Google Dataset Search, helps researchers discover datasets published across universities, research institutions, government portals and other repositories. Search results link to the original sources, where you can inspect available formats, metadata, access conditions and licences before using a dataset. It is a discovery tool rather than a dataset host, so availability and reuse terms depend on the source.
- ORBIT, helps researchers discover datasets across repositories such as Zenodo, Figshare and Dryad, as well as machine-learning datasets on Hugging Face. It provides information about licences and reuse conditions and supports exporting search results and citations. ORBIT links to the original dataset rather than hosting the files, and some datasets may have access restrictions; its free tier has limited searches and requires an account.
Digital Accessibility Research and Tools
- Certvo Accessibility Research, publishes web accessibility research and downloadable JSON and CSV datasets documenting automated accessibility checks against WCAG criteria, including colour contrast, missing alternative text and inaccessible links. Its 2026 report covers 1,569 websites and 4,562 pages. The accompanying methodology explains the sampling approach and its limitations: the sample is weighted towards commercial websites, and automated checks cannot assess every aspect of accessibility. Treat the findings as a research dataset, not a representative measure of the entire web.

Platform Accountability and Content Removal
- Lumen Database, collects and analyses notices and requests to remove online content, including copyright complaints and requests involving defamation, privacy and other legal claims. Its records can help researchers examine how legal demands affect the availability of online material. Coverage depends on notices shared with the database, so it should not be treated as a complete record of all removals.
